Meet the Chair: Cheryl Grosso
Cheryl Grosso is a veteran, experienced IT professional, and committed public servant with a strong focus on effective governance and community collaboration. She currently works for Leidos as a Product Owner on an agile team supporting a Department of Justice contract. In this role, she works across systems and stakeholders to improve processes and deliver solutions that support critical government services.
Cheryl began her career as a nurse in the United States Army working on a Cardiac Care Unit at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. During her career she has progressed through a series of roles in Professional Nursing in Critical Care, Education, Management and Process Improvement.
In Delaware County, Cheryl serves as Secretary of the Planning Commission, where she works alongside the Planning Department to evaluate development projects and ensure growth is strategic, community-informed, and sustainable. She’s proud to contribute to a shared vision for the future of the region she calls home.
She was also the former chair of the Marple Newtown Democratic Committee, where she helped build grassroots engagement, support candidates, and strengthen civic participation throughout the community. Last year, she was elected to the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors.
Cheryl is valued for her thoughtful approach, ability to listen closely, and skill in bringing people together to find common ground. She works well in complex environments, helping groups with different perspectives move toward shared solutions and meaningful progress. In her downtime, Cheryl enjoys reading and relaxing, recharging her energy to keep showing up with purpose and positivity. She believes in respectful dialogue, practical solutions, and the power of persistence to create lasting change.
