Democrats retain control in Morton

MORTON — Democrats retained control of borough council in Tuesday’s election when four candidates were elected, giving the party six of the seven seats on the governing body.

Successful candidates were incumbents Michele Roberts and Jethro Akins, along with Robert Neal and Michelle Miller.

Republicans who lost were incumbent Bill Bissell, Barry Phillips, Irene Pilarz and Allen Peter Ubaldini.

Republican Mayor Maureen Piselli and Republican Tax Collector Alycee Nelson Ruley ran unopposed. (Delaware County Democratic Party Correction: Alycee Nelson Ruley is a registered Democrat and appeared on and won the Democratic Ballot)
