Ridley Park Democrat wins council seat

RIDLEY PARK — Republicans captured the mayor’s seat and three of the four council seats in Tuesday’s election.

Incumbent Mayor Henry Eberly won a fifth term, beating former Democratic councilman Ken Harper.

Democrat Daniel Broadhurst won a seat on council (emphasis added), along withRepublican incumbents Bob Berger, who is president of council, and Samantha Meglino Snow, and Michelle Endriss Dalessio. The political make-up of the council is six Republicans and one Democrat.

Defeated in their bids for council seats were Republican Daniel Knowles and Democrats Jeanne Frantz, a former council member, Daniel Pierro and Nina Walls, who is the borough Democratic committee chairman.

With the results of the election the Republicans retain control of council by a five to two majority.
