Democrats keep control of Radnor commissioners

The Radnor Board of Commissioners remained under control of the Democrats after Tuesday’s elections, while Republicans retained the treasurers seat in the township.

The Democrats hold a 7-2 advantage on the board of commissioners as three seats were up for grabs.

Tuesday’s results in the commissioners race with all machines in were:

Ward 2

Richard Booker, 340

Diane Edbril, 271

Ward 4

Albert Phelan, 501

Elaine Schaefer, 656

Ward 6

Don Curley, 594

Mary Foy, 310

Booker is a former member of the Radnor School Board, Schaefer has been on the commissioners board since 2009 and Curley has been a member of the board since 2009. While Foy was on the ballot, she moved out of the township this fall and was ineligible to be elected.

In the treasurer’s race, Republican John Osborne kept the seat he has held for nine years. He defeated challenger Bill Spingler, who is the commissioner for Ward 3 in the township, by a 3,287-2,551 vote
