"Remember the Pay Raise" -- No More Tricks or Treats Rally featuring Gene Stilp & the 25 foot tall "pay raise pig"

Rally for Fred Dewey, candidate for PA State Assembly District 168

WHERE: Front Steps, Media Courthouse, Media PA

WHEN: October 31, 2006 - 12 Noon

WHY: Last summer on July 7 at 2:00 AM the PA State Legislature tricked us and treated themselves to a 20 - 50% pay raise with no public comment.  Our "trusted" legislators do not seem to want to discuss the pay raise, but we do. We don't believe you can sweep moves like this under the rug. Therefore this Halloween we're going to drag these ghouls into the light - and send a loud and clear message that the voting public refuses to be tricked by elected officials who vote themselves $$ when they think no one is watching in the darkest witching hour.

Joe Sestak with 9/11 Commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste

The fifth anniversary of 9/11 is a time of remembrance and resolve in the war on terror. But it's also a time to recognize that we are not as safe as we should be and that we must focus on our critical security gaps.

Given the recent furor over a pending network ‘docudrama’ on that tragedy, the value of an informed, thoughtful remembrance is clear.

On Sunday 9/10, at 5 pm, Admiral Joe Sestak will be joined by distinguished 9/11 Commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste at the Media Borough Hall. Mr. Ben-Veniste is uniquely qualified to comment on all aspects of that fateful day.

Time: 5:00 pm

Location: Media Borough Hall at 301 N. Jackson Street in Media, PA.

Canvassing and Barbecue (The Democratic Reunion)

Radnor Democrats, in co-ordination with the campaigns for Governor Rendell and Brian Lentz for State Representative are planning on staging a canvassing in two precincts on Saturday, June 29th beginning at 12:00pm. Mike Eagle is the host and the "base" address is 22 Clover Lane in Wayne. We are planning on hitting local homes as well as having people handing out lit on the bike trail. The canvassing should wrap up around 5pm. After that we are having a good old fashioned Democratic barbecue. Food, fun, and politics. No fund raising. So it does not cost to get in. We just want to have a good time and get as many people involved as possible. Bring a friend (even a Republican). We will be talking lots of politics, national and local.
Not being available for canvassing is no excuse for not showing up at the barbecue.
PLEASE RSVP BY JULY 27, 2006.

Casey Campaign House Parties

On June 13th, the Casey Campaign had several house parties across the state (check out the photo gallery at http://www.bobcasey.com/multimedia/photos). Each location participated in a conference call with Bob and heard more about his positions on the issues and how he will better represent the needs of Pennsylvanians in the US Senate. These events were a great success, and in the words of one host, "guests were pleased with the amount of information they received from him [Bob] in one phone call and were excited to hear his plans for the state and for the country."

On July 12th, the Casey Campaign will be having another round of house parties and plan to build the house party network across the state, and increase the dedicated group of Team Casey volunteers. With your help we can help make that goal a reality.

The goal is to have 10 house parties in each of the 67 counties. If you are interested in hosting a house party for Bob Casey, please contact Liz Conroy at lconroy@bobcaseyforpa.com .

Note: this meetup preempts the April Casey Meetup!

Never before has the Democratic Party been more organized in advance of an election. With new staff hitting the ground everywhere from Alaska to Arkansas, we are going to fight for every vote in every corner of every state in 2006. Right now we're preparing for the next big step in the Democratic National Committee's 50-state strategy. On April 29th, thousands of volunteers will recruit hundreds of thousands more Americans committed to changing the status quo this year. We're going to do it by making personal contact with our neighbors. April 29th will be the Democratic Party's first-ever National Neighbor-to-Neighbor Organizing Day. We're going to test our organization and build new relationships among volunteers with door-knocking events in communities across America. And right here in Delaware County we are going to send volunteers into precincts where it is critical that we recruit new precinct workers to help elect the entire Democratic ticket from Ed Rendell to Joe Sestak to our state legislative candidates. We need your help with this project so that we have the volunteer staff necessary to hit the precincts where we most need to recruit new volunteers.
