Rendell Nominates Daly to Bench
Frank Daly was honored this week with a nomination by Pennsylvania Governor Ed
Rendell to fill a vacant seat on the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.
Governor Rendell's faith and trust in Frank's abilities inspires Frank to live
up to the task and gives him more confidence to run for Judge. Trusting Governor
Rendell's decision, Frank feels he would be able to carry out the duties
associated with this position and live up to the Governor's expectations.
In a press release issued May 9, 2007, Governor Rendell announced his nomination
of Frank to replace the Honorable Harry J. Bradley. Frank will sit on the bench
until December 31, 2007.
In the press release, Governor Rendell stated, "The breadth and depth of Frank
Daly's more than three decades of legal experience, as well as his involvement
in the community, clearly makes him an excellent nominee to the Court of Common
Pleas. I am pleased that he has accepted the challenge and am proud to make this
nomination."
Frank's nomination will go the Pennsylvania State Senate for confirmation.

Democrats Continue to
Increase Registration Numbers
Registered Democrats continue to increase in Delaware County while the number of
registered Republicans continues its long slide downward. The latest figures
released by the Bureau of Elections for May, 2007 show the number of registered
Republicans at their lowest level ever in Delaware County.
Registered Republicans are now only 53.3 % of the total number of registered
voters in the county, with 203,561 Republican voters.
Registered Democrats now number 134,795 voters, or 35.3% of the total
registration. Registered Independents equal 43,240 voters, or 11.3%.
Democrats have crossed the 35% threshold. More importantly, the number of new
Democrats registering for the first time since the November, 2006 election is
over 1,000 voters, while Republicans actually lost 2,000 voters during the same
period. The Delaware County Democratic Party continues to show momentum and
strength following our spectacular gains at the polls last November.
