Memorial Service for Marty Thomas
On November 13, Marty Thomas, passed away. She was a woman of truly incredible compassion and spirit. She was a Democratic committee person from Upper Providence, wife of Bill Thomas and mother of Ian and Adam Thomas.
There will be a celebration of her life during a memorial gathering from noon until 2pm on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Media Community Center ( 301 N. Jackson Street Media, PA 19063). At the gathering, all are welcome. During the celebration friends are free, though in no way obliged, to share a fond memory.
All those that have known her know that she delighted in both flowers and the happiness of children. In remembrance, the family is seeking to establish a children's garden and youth gardening program. They are in the process of arranging to place this memorial garden behind a local school in a neighborhood park. Children would have an opportunity to learn how to garden with the help of volunteers. When flowers are in bloom, the children would be encouraged to bring arrangements from the garden home. This would be a fitting tribute to her life and in the spirit of her wishes.
