Democratic Precinct Captain Training Session

Delaware County will be hosting a Democratic National Committee Precinct Captain/Volunteer Training Session featuring Fadia Halma, DNC Field Organizer for Eastern Pennsylvania. The session will cover methods that committee people and precinct captains can use to communicate with voters and recruit volunteers. All Democrats are welcome to attend.

When: Monday, September 18, 2006

Where: Marple Public Library, Sproul and Springfield Roads Broomall

Time: 7:00 PM

Volunteer: Voter Registration

The Democratic Party has scheduled voter registration events at supermarkets throughout the county, repeating a successful program that helped register hundreds of new voters in 2004. Voter registration will be taking place every Saturday between now and October 7 at the following locations:

Sept 2 Acme in Upper Darby/Pathmark in Ridley
 
Sept 9 Acme in Granite Run (Middletown)/Pathmark in Glenolden
Sept 16 Superfresh in Manoa/Acme in Media
Sept 23 Acme in Clifton Heights and Upper Darby
Sept 30 Pathmark in Ridley/Acme in Granite Run
Oct 7 Pathmark in Glenolden/Superfresh in Manoa

Registration tables will operate from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If you are interested in volunteering for this project, please contact voter registration director Felice Simelaro at felicesimelaro@comcast.net.

Liberty PA LGBT Organizing Event

Liberty PA is a statewide LGBT organization working to defeat right-wing Senatore Rick Santorum and elect Bob Casey and the entire Democratic ticket. This house party will serve as a kick off to efforts to organize the LGBT community in Delaware County for this year's campaigns and to form a future LGBT Caucus of the county Democratic Party.

When: Wednesday, September 6, 2006, 7:00 PM

Where: At the home of Paul Scoles, 26 Haverford Road, Ardmore, PA (park on side streets)

Dozens of people turned out to support Mike Farrell in the first debate in Delaware County of the 2006 campaign season. The consensus following the debate was that Farrell won. His answers were better and he was more statesmenlike then the overly-aggressive and nervous incumbent.
