Labor Day Picnic - FREE!

The Delaware County Democratic Party urges everyone attending the picnic on Sunday, September 4, to bring a cash donation or a check written out to the American Red Cross. The party will deliver the donations to the local office of the Red Cross for use in relief efforts following the devastation of Hurrican Katrina.

The Delaware County Democratic Party invites all committee people and Democratic activists to a free Labor Day Picnic on Sunday, September 4th at 2:00 PM (rain date Monday September 5th). The Picnic will be held in Newtown Township at the home of Abu and Shelly Rahman, 304 Crum Creek Lane. Abu is treasurer of the Marple Newtown Democratic Party and leads the Asian American Democratic Association of Delaware County. Shelly Rahman is a member of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. Come out for an old fashioned picnic and meet your fellow Democrats from around Delaware County!

Burgers, hot dogs and refreshments will be supplied. Please feel free to bring salads, desserts and wine if so desired.

The Republican-American's headline asks, "Is New Orleans worth reclaiming?" The editorial depicts our city and our people as a drain on federal coffers, and if you read it you might get the impression that New Orleans has never contributed to the economic vitality of this country. It maligns the city and our people as if we're nothing more than outstretched palms waiting for FEMA grants that only they fund.

How dare they?
