Will the Delaware County Democratic Party play the role in defeating Santorum and Re-Electing Ed Rendell and replacing Curt Weldon with Paul Scoles that the 2004 Presidential Election showed we can?

That question can only be answered by YOU!

While candidates are raising money at all levels, it is the county party that keeps open an office in Media, maintains voter databases (online interactive AND label/list producing); monitors what goes on in the county government, particularly the elections and registration offices to assure that all votes in this county are counted and all those who wish to register to vote are fully registered.

It costs us almost $30,000 per year to pay the rent, the utility bills, the equipment maintenance and leases, costs associated with maintaining the databases and updating the phone lists; and the supplies needed to print lists and labels for local committees and candidates.

The county party sponsors four fundraising events each year -- but they are forced to compete with local committee events. We and our candidates are also forced to compete with the reality that people would rather contribute money to major candidates or even the national Democratic Party.

What most people don't know is that we receive NO FINANCIAL AID FROM THE STATE OR NATIONAL PARTIES and few if any state or national candidates.

As we face the second half of 2005, our funds are inadequate to keep our operation going. We have a fundraiser planned for July 21st at the home of Mary Ellen Balchunis Harris ($25 to attend) and we are planning a golf outing in September, as well as the annual Pechin Award Breakfast in October.

We need your help now. We are making this special appeal for you to become a Party Patron. In past years, we have asked $25 annually to be such a patron and we urge you to contribute more if you can.
