For those of you who wish to participate, here is
the info for Sunday's Welcome Home Heroes Parade:
Date:
Sunday May 18, 2003
Democratic Party set-up and staging area:
Democratic Party Headquarters, located at 316 E. Baltimore Pike in Media,
PA. This is on the corner of Baltimore Pike and Manchester Road, just beyond
Route 252, and across the street from Dunkin Donuts.
If you are bringing a convertible vehicle or a truck for use in the parade,
please arrive at headquarters by 10:30am.
The cars and trucks will be decorated and lined up at party headquarters.
There is limited parking so please try to carpool. Coffee and donuts will
be available.
If you are coming to help decorate vehicles and prepare, please arrive
at headquarters by 10:30am.
Parade Staging Area:
We will leave together from Party headquarters no later then 11:30am to
arrive by noon at the staging area on Bishop Hollow Road in Newtown Square.
If you plan to participate with us in the parade and ride in our vehicles,
please arrive no later then 11:30 am at Party headquarters.
Parade Route and Time:
The parade is scheduled to start at 1:00pm. We will travel from the intersection
of Route 252 and Route 3 in Newtown Township down West Chester Pike through
Newtown, Marple, Havertown and Upper Darby, then up Lansdowne Avenue to
the Upper Darby High School. We should reach the high school by 3pm and
be able to return to Party headquarters by 4pm.
There will be a Ceremony at the High School at the end of the parade.
We will not be staying to participate in the ceremony.
After the parade we will drive back to the Party headquarters.
PLEASE CONFIRM if you plan to ride with us in
the parade so we know how many vehicles we will need and how many people
we can accomodate. If you have a convertible or a truck we can use, please
