Delco Young Democrats Back in Action
The Delaware County Democratic Party announced the formation of a new chapter
of the Pennsylvania Young Democrats that will recruit, register and organize
young Democratic voters throughout Delaware County. The group's new president
is Dustin Gettel, a college student from Marple Township.
"Delaware County has been without an official chapter of the Young Democrats
for a number of years and now that the state chapter is re-organizing, we
are proud that we have a new, active chapter that will help build the Democratic
Party here in Delaware County," said Democratic County Chairman Cliff Wilson.
The newly-organized chapter will hold its first event on Friday, May 2,
2003 at Alberto's Restaurant in Newtown Square. The event will consist of
a brief meeting followed by the screening of the film "The Big One," by Academy
Award winning director Michael Moore who also directed "Bowling for Columbine."
The event will start at 7:30pm and is free to attend for all Democrats age
35 and younger. Food and drinks can be purchased at the restaurant. For directions
or for more information, email youngdemsdelco@msn.com.
